2016/17

Lexia Superstar - A huge well done to Emma in Y6. The only child EVER in the history of LEXIA at Windmill Hill to complete the whole programme. A great achievement!

Community clean up - Well done to Emily and Jenny for helping to keep Burncross clean and tidy by doing a litter pick in their own time. Their great work even made the newspapers! Well done girls.

Y2 Football Tournament - Well done to our Y2 football teams who took part in the Arches Locality competition on Friday 11th November. Our two teams competed against teams from other schools in the local area. Our two teams finished first and second overall. A great effort from both teams - well done! A special mention to Freddy who received a special award for exceptional goalkeeping. Well done Freddy!

Y6 Young Mathematicians Award - A huge well done to Tom, Jake, Isabelle & Rebecca, our Y6 mathematicians who represented the school in Round 1 of the National Young Mathematicians Awards on Wednesday 9th November. Their maths skills were really put to the test as they completed the challenges. We are thrilled that they were the winners of the event and will progress to the next round on November 23rd.Good luck in the next round guys!

Roald Dahl Day - Our fundraising efforts on Dahlicious Dress Up Day raised £133.80. This money will help the Roald Dahl nurses to support seriously ill children across the UK.

2015/16

Children in Need - £444.04 total raised this year. Well done to everyone!

Community Friends - Well done to all our year 1 and year 3 children who received a Community Friends' Award for their work at John Trickett House over the Christmas period.

BizKids - A huge well done to the group of Year 6 children and Miss Ellin who took part in the Bizkids Project fundraising for St Luke's Hospice, Sheffield. The group raised an amazing £802, which was matched by Yorkshire Bank to make a phenomenal £1604 for such a great cause.

Tag Rugby - Well done to our two teams of Year 3 /4 children who represented the school at Tag Rugby on 17th March. Both teams did fantastically well, playing well as a team, being good role models for sportsmanship and both reaching the semi-finals. We were hoping for an all Windmill Hill final but it was not to be! Well done to team A who came 4th overall and team B who came second.

Dance Festival - Well done to our team of Irish dancers who represented the school at the Arches Dance Festival on 14th April. See pictures of our children and some of the other dance groups at The Arches Gallery.
